Powered and Electric Wheelchair Insurance

Under current legislation there is no legal requirement to insure powered or electric wheelchairs, however doing so can give wheelchair users peace of mind in event of an accident or if the wheelchair is lost, damaged or stolen. Insurance can also cover personal liability in the event of an accident, as the wheelchair user may be deemed liable for any damages or injuries, no matter how big or small.

Without the right protection in place the consequences and cost of any of claims, damage, loss, theft or breakdown could soon add up, as well as meaning the wheelchair user may be without an important part of their life and independence, their wheelchair.
